So I am back. And I have a lot to process. I was upstate in a little cabin near Buffalo, just reading and ignoring the world, and Jon called me. Actually called, didn’t text. I picked up, and he was already driving. He showed up at my cabin. We sat on the porch and he finally just cracked open. He told me he pulled away because he doesn’t know if he is the man he used to be, and he is absolutely terrified of disappointing me again after everything he put me through in 2019. It was the most honest he has been in a decade. I didn’t yell. I just listened. We talked for hours. Things aren’t magically fixed, but… they make sense now.
